The Richard A. Nasca Memorial Scholarship For Optics Excellence


Universal Photonics is proud to support the Richard A. Nasca Memorial Scholarship. Benefiting scholarship recipients to pursue studies in the optics field. Recipients will be known as the Nasca Scholars at Monroe Community College, and will carry on Rick’s legacy of leadership, professionalism and passion for MCC and Optics.








The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation


A longtime supporter, Universal Photonics shares the Foundation’s passion and commitment to curing diabetes now. The DRI is aggressively working to shrink the timeline toward the discovery of a biological cure. Universal Photonics is actively involved in the Foundation's fundraising efforts: planning, funding, and participating.

The INN
“ ...Serving Hungry & Homeless Long Islanders with Dignity, Respect and Love... ”


Universal Photonics makes it possible for employees to volunteer at The INN at the company’s expense. In addition to collecting, storing, and delivering donations of clothing and household goods, UPI volunteers take turns every other Wednesday from 8:30 AM on, working at the Hempstead facility. From stocking shelves, sorting clothing, to serving soup kitchen guests a hot meal, UPI volunteers are working with The INN to overcome the challenge of hunger and homelessness here on Long Island.

The Marcum Workplace Challenge


Universal Photonics’ employees, their families and friends participate in “Long Island’s largest participatory sporting event and Office Picnic.” The Marcum Workplace Challenge, a 3.5 mile run/walk along Jones Beach, draws 10,000 attendees and more than 200 L.I. companies. UPI attendees can enjoy company sponsored refreshments and food, before or after the event, in the Universal Photonics’ tent.

Volleyball - Introducing the UPI Spykers


Through September, you’ll find the UPI Spykers playing their hearts out at the Jones Beach Volleyball Stadium. Organized by The Long Island Volleyball Association, the largest adult volleyball program in the northeastern US, LIVA is a proud sponsor of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County, having raised and donated $173,603.50 to help make dreams come true.
