Silicon Carbide

Availability

Unasil

Only diamond and Boron are harder than Unasil (measures 9.5 MOHS). Provides fast clean cutting over extended cycle times.

ANSI standard grades from 8 - 3000 mesh.

Economical grades with blended mesh size also available.

Green Unasil

Slight difference in hardness and fine size than regular Unasil which is ideal for superfine lapping and smoothing over extended times.

Mesh sizes up to 8000

Micronized Unasil

Tighter particle size control and narrower particle size distribution make it ideal for lapping and sawing applications requiring super-high tolerances.

4.5, 7.5, 9, 10, 12, 16, 21, 26, 30, 36, 42 micron

Boron Carbide

Availability

Boron Carbide

One of the hardest abrasive materials available. Can be used in many applications normally requiring diamond.

Mesh sizes 180 – 1200o:p>

Suspension treated available.

Premium Boron Carbide

Water-classified, controlled grading for tighter tolerances required by materials like Sapphire and Analon.
